Between July 17 and 26, we will organize the Research camp for biology students in Notranjska Park as part of the LIFE TRŠCA project, in collaboration with the Biology Students’ Association. The ten-day camp will bring together biology students who, under the guidance of experienced experts, will explore the exceptional natural heritage of our very special piece of the world.
Through this camp, we aim to provide young biologists with practical experience in field research and encourage them to continue exploring and protecting nature. Through their research, participants will also contribute to a better understanding of plant and animal species and their habitats in the area of Lake Cerknica and the wider Notranjska region, which provides an important foundation for effective nature conservation efforts.
Since we also want to share the richness of our natural world with the general public, we will organize open-house field days during the camp. Visitors will be able to join us in the field, learn about various research methods, and discover with us the exceptional biodiversity of the mystical land of Lake Cerknica.
The highlight of the event will be on Saturday, July 25, when a public presentation of the research camp’s findings will take place in the afternoon at Cerknica Elementary School. Participants will present their work, interesting findings, and initial research results, making the event an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the nature of this mystical land and the work of young researchers.
A detailed schedule of the open-house field days, meeting locations, and start times for each event is posted below.
We invite you to join us and discover with us the natural riches of the mystical land of Lake Cerknica.
